Q's for Blogland

So I find that I have some more technical/practical questions after blogging for some time. I'm hoping to find some help and direction.

I LOVE so many of the pictures I see on other people's sites. I'm a huge fan of black/white photos that show couples. Many of you post them. In many of them one partner is clearly in a more submissive position. Sometimes he's pulling her hair, holding her down, caressing her, etc...I also love some of the ones with cute little phrases that have to do with spanking, D/s ideas, etc...When I do a post right now I google for pics and I never come up with pictures so lovely as what I'm finding on other people's blogs. Soooo....where do you guys get your pictures?

How do you come up with ideas for your blog?

I'm not entirely thrilled with the look of my blog. It's okay and I did it in a hurry just to get something up. But I'd love to have a look that's more "me". What are some resources that you use to get your blog to look the way that you want it to?

Do you have a set schedule that you post on? Ex. - every M, W, Saturday or something like that? I've toyed with the idea. I'm just curious what other people do.

Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you!

  1. For pictures for my blog I use google images and type in the emotion I want to express. I then go from there. Often I see pictures that I think I will use in the future and save them.

For backgrounds to your blog you can do the same thing. Google image them, and then click the links you like and go from there. ( hot bliggity blog, cutest blog on the block, shabby blogs). Or just use the blogger backgrounds and change them up. I use Pic Monkey *lol* to created headers. You can google image headers, download them and then alter them in pic monkey.

You know where to find me if you want anymore information....

As for the postings, whenever the writing bug bites me.

    1. It didn't really occur to me to type the emotion in images. I usually type what I physically want to see. So I will try this approach. Thank you. I do have a cutest blog on the block background right now. When I get around to it, I may have to spend more time looking to find something that suits me. Despite my name and the fact that I love receiving flower, I'm not really a flowery person I don't think. So at some point I want to make my blog a bit more me. Thank you for all of the pointers - they're much appreciated!

willie, thanks for answering how you find your pictures. i was just looking for some and couldn't think of what keyword to use.

    1. Yeah. I hate dealing with my blog on my smart phone. I usually just read other people's blogs on my smart phone. Even commenting can be a PITA on a smart phone!

  3. You can also run a regular search on google for free gif and image sites using terms like "couples".

    1. I will definitely use the word couples more as that seemed to turn up more than using the word man and woman together in the search box.

  4. Google Image Search- make sure you turn off the safe search option....otherwise you miss the fun stuff :) I literally search what I want a picture of. Pull Hair- Wife in corner - Compassion- Spank Paddle..... oh the laughter I would have if my husband checked my history BAHAHAHA

    1. Hmmm...I don't think mine is set to a safe search option. But I should look and see. I would imagine that's in the internet settings somewhere?

  5. 1) For blog pics, I go to google image searches and type in things like "sensual submission and dominance" or "sensual spanking" or something like that. Googling "sexy" is going to get worse pics. As it is, I have to filter through lots of yucky stuff to get to the good ones. However, once I find a good site (a pinterest page, or tumblr) I will go there and save all the pics I like. So then when I blog, I typically have a bunch to choose from. I do this every few weeks and save up a few dozen. Since I prefer black and white, I sometimes add that in the search engine.

    2) whenever I have an idea for a blog post, I jot it down. So far, there are so many things that come up regularly, I always have ideas, so when I have an idea I usually draft it. I try not to do more than two posts a week, so I usually have a few posts saved for a later date. People like real life stories, so I try to give a good variety of what happened. Sometimes it's just too raw for me to blog about then so I do it at a later date. Sometimes I have a question For yourI've been emailed or asked so many times, I think it's time to write a blog post about that topic.

    3) For the background, if you go to layout and click "background" it brings the pic up of your current background. Click that, and it brings up hundreds more options.

    Hope that helps!

    2. Very smart idea to google and save as many as you find at one time. I think I will definitely go this route so that hopefully I won't have to hunt at the time that I'm trying to complete a blog post. Thank you!

  6. Tumblr is a fantastic source for pictures. You can search the tags and find most anything you want, and some that you didn't know you want.

    1. I will have to look into Tumblr. I've not really used it, but looks like it will be a great resource. Thank you!

  7. For pictures, I type into the google search bar: Submissive pinterest... you'll be amazed what you'll find. Or if you have a pinterest account you could just use that. combining any words having to do with TTWD and adding pinterest to the end will give you pinterest pages without having to have a pinterest account if you don't want to.

I blog about whatever has been on my mind recently... it seems to work for me.

I've enjoyed your blog and I hope you keep sharing with us.

    1. Pinterest is my current favorite place to find pictures. Here is a link to all of my boards: http://www.pinterest.com/sassychassy333/boards/. I have several people that I follow that have boards dedicated the the black & white pics you are talking about.

By the way I LOVE your blog. I'm not sure if you've updated since you posted this, but I think it's very cute & very unique!

  8. I am sorry that I am just now getting to your blog. Welcome to blogland. :) I'm a bit late in saying so, sorry.

I don't have a schedule that I write on. Some weeks I have time and things to write about every single day, and some weeks I only have time, or one thing to write about. So I go with what I have, and it works for me. :) For images, I make my own, but I know a lot of people go to sites that specifically make backgrounds for blogs like Cutest Blog on the Block and so forth. If you find an image that is 300k or smaller, and large enough to be for your blog, you can also import it in. :) If you need help with that, both Willie and I help people, so feel free to ask either of us. :) And as for images, I can't really help you there, sorry. I don't use outside images on my posts, though that is something I've been debating on lately, so hearing what people wrote as comments helps me a lot too in case I do change my mind on this. :)
